3-Min Creative Writing in Here!
Hey!
This post is a bit long,
you can scroll right down
to the Creative Writing Exercise,
if that serves you best!
Or click on the video
and there I will tell you all about
this email and the exercise.
Hi,
I am Lihi, founder of Creative Express Studio, and I am here to tell you that if you —
Can’t find time for creativity? Then — Good.
Allow me to explain.
Are you always dreaming of doing something creative?
Are you disappointed when you cannot fit this into your current life?
Got no time?
Are you disappointed when you cannot fit this into your current life?
Got no time?
Well, I am here to introduce you to an Easy Creative Stress Relief Technique.
It’s Free.
It takes less than 5 Min.
In a few minutes, we will dive into this writing exercise, get ready for 3 minutes of writing.
So go ahead, find a keyboard or a piece of paper and pen, or even your phone — open a new email, write your piece in it, and then address it to lihi@creativeexpress.studio and send it to me when we’re done.
Next time, I will share here a piece by John,
(written during our last 3-Min exercise).
But before we go into the exercise,
I want to tell you that I am personally familiar with this feeling —
Feeling disappointed that I cannot fit a creative activity into my current life.
So, I know first hand that when we cannot find time to do the thing we want to do for ourselves, for our personal well-being, it could feel like we are stuck.
I am not here to “get you unstuck” in the way these words are used in the conventional self-help arena.
No, instead —
I would like to invite you to cut yourself some slack.

Let’s take a moment to look at this from a new perspective.
Creativity? Is this really what you need right now?
We might be too stressed about our circumstances.
Too stressed to engage in creativity —
Stress gets in the way of creativity.
When we are stressed we need support. We can find it by doing something familiar and comforting.
Creativity is neither.
Creativity is the uncertainty and the wild.
It can feel scary.
I believe in giving ourselves the grace of comfort first.
I am not talking about a weekend away at a Spa.
I am talking about stopping self-judgment for 1 minute (at least…).
Here is the Invitation:
Experiment, Take 1 minute a day of not judging yourself for all you always judge yourself for.
Here are examples of common self-judgment statements:
- I’m such a jerk. How could I have said that?
- I’m so stupid. I should have learned this by now.
- I’ll never be good enough. I’ll never do it right enough.
- No one could love me. I’m not lovable.
These statements are never the Truth,
I know them well from my own head,
I promise you:
you can be free of them. You have permission:
THEY ARE LYING TO YOU.
You don’t have to believe me,
You are invited to experiment:
What leads to better results?
Believing those thoughts
or letting them float away without worrying about them?
Because, I will say it again — letting them float away without worrying about them — is a valid option!!!
Ok, now that you took a break from self-judgment —
If you feel better and stronger,
Then perhaps now you are ready to engage in creativity.
Again, when we cannot find time to do what we are dreaming of doing, it could feel like we are stuck.
May time is still lacking, but —
You are not stuck,
you can be creative even in 2 or 3 minutes —
I’ll ask you again, Are you always dreaming of doing something creative and disappointed when you cannot fit this into your current life?
Is that one of your stressors?
I invite you to begin here with me,
Let’s have a 3-Min Creative Writing exercise together, right here, right now:

Let’s go into our …
Exercise!
- I am about to tell you 3 words, please write them down at the top of your page –
- I will then set a 3 min timer for us, and we will begin writing. I will be writing as well, and sharing my piece at the end of the 3 min (in the video).
I want to read yours! So please send it to me at lihi@creativeexpress.studio.
As you write:
- Think of those 3 words as toys to play with — jump between them as if they were trampolines! Do with them — the first thing that comes to you, without making sense. I know it’s a challenge, we are used to doing things this way in our daily lives — and here hides the benefit of trying this. Lets see what happens.
- I encourage you to avoid planning or knowing what it is that you are writing about,
Here, you are allowed to write badly and make no sense —
The invitation is to try it, and let’s see what happens —
You do not need any talent or writing experience to be doing this! All you need is to show up and do this.
Ok, so here are the 3 words:
